The title of this story first references the outlook of Puppy Wave's life and the feeling given when seeing it through their own eyes.
The secondary reference is that it's a play on the lyrics "Lucky stars in your eyes" from Daniel Johnston's song 'Walking the Cow'.

Cover art for this story features Puppy Wave on the box art for a Polygonal 2X game. The console itself exists within both character universes, and is basically a stand-in for the Dreamcast.

When I originally wrote this story, I didn't have a full idea of when exactly this story was set within the Trans in Barking timeline. However, once I began writing the main Trans in Barking stories I could then easily figure the time setting of STARS IN [THEIR] EYES.
For simplicity sake, most of the story spans between January 2020 and the Summer following it. That slice of the story takes place before the events of Trans in Barking - First Act.
Once Puppy Wave meets Eliza, the story is taking place in late October 2020. This sets it AFTER the events of Trans in Barking - First Intermission and BEFORE the events of Trans in Barking - Third Act.

For the sake of mystery, the unknown settings involved in this story will never be revealed! Fits in with the strange and mysterious life of Puppy Wave, don't it?

When Puppy Wave mentions "JASON FREDERICK SPOKE OF THIS BEFORE", this is a reference to a name I wanted to have when I was a young kid (which was long before I transitioned, of course).
